Focus - Elementary Report Cards
*Please note that a scrambling function is in place for the Focus system. In the examples provided below, it's important to clarify that none of the student names, ID numbers, teacher names, or grades correspond to real individuals.
Conduct
- DO NOT post Final Grades for Conduct.
- You will post Standards in Conduct ONLY for issues.
Comments
- Comments must be recorded in Conduct Course
- Only the Comments entered in the Conduct Course will show on the report card.
- Click Portal
- Click Final Grades
- Click Report Card Comments
- Ensure you are in the correct quarter. Enter your Comments for each student.
- Comments will build each quarter. While you are not limited on how many words, please keep comments succinct. Extremely long comments will cause issues with the report cards printing in Q3 and Q4. We recommend 150-250 words or less per quarter.
- Click Save
Grades K-5 will Post Standard Grades:
Posting Standards Grades
- As you enter your assignments throughout the quarter, you should be marking your standards within each assignment.
- If you did not mark the standards within each assignment, you will need to add the standards while posting.
- Click Portal
- Click Final Grades
- Click Post Standard Grades
- Ensure you are in the correct quarter. Click Use Gradebook
- Confirm by clicking OK.
- You will see a confirmation that you have completed Standard Grades.
- Repeat for each subject.
- For Conduct, you are marking areas of concern only. Please do not forget to mark ESOL and MTSS supports.
Posting Final Grades (K and 1 skip this step)
- In order to post final grades, you must make sure your gradebook is completely filled out. You can not have blank assignments for any students.
- Click Portal
- Click Final Grades
- Click Post Final Grades
- Ensure you are in the correct quarter. Click Use Gradebook.
- Confirm by clicking OK
- Ensure your grades are correct. You will get a confirmation at the top of the screen that your grades are posted.
- If at any point you need to make a change before the grading window is over, be sure to click Save.
Printing Report Cards
- Click Portal
- Click Reports
- Click Grades
- Click Indian River County Report Cards
- Choose the Grades K-1 or Grades 2-5 Template depending on what grade you teach.
- Report Card templates determine which grading scale is shown on the report card. Please make sure that you choose your correct grade level template

- Choose how to sort.
- Check Multilingual if you have any students with a home language other than English.
- Check Publish to Parent and Student Portal.
**NOTE**If you print early, you do not need to check this, but you must remember to come back and check it before the grading window is over. - Click Search.
- Check to top box to select all your students.
- Click Generate.
- Once the process is complete, click Download as PDF.
- Open the file and print the report cards.
